I was fed up with the tiny high speed fan on the PNY GT 730 board in my HTPC so decided to upgrade as there was plenty of space around it. I took out this fan, installed rubber anti-vibration pins on a new Noctua fan, glued the pins to the heatsink and connected it to ULNA. Results? I can no longer hear hissing from the card! I stress tested it with Furmark to push it beyond realistic usage, and temperatures with the Noctua low-speed fan (74Β°C) were only 5Β°C warmer than the PNY high-speed fan (69 Β°C), which is well within the limits of GT 730! I have used many high end fans of all sizes in the past but this is definitely one of the best. The rotor is perfectly balanced, the motor doesn't make the resonant noise you often hear from cheaper fans, the bearing runs silently, and the airflow sound quality is smooth. If you want to make your PC nice and quiet, you can't go wrong with Noctua!
