The product met my expectations with a top to bottom vertical wood grain grip for durability. after first cutting off the old block of wood to make it easier to remove the old wood stump. For the new replacement pin insert, I used sandpaper to shave/shape/size the wood end of the insert to fit the hole in the metal hammer head. This was followed by a solid groove for a nice fit with extra wood length and then clipped. Finally, at the end of the task, the supplied "new wedge" was driven in with another hammer in order to secure the hammer head with the new wooden handle. .
