As other reviewers have said, one of the pieces with a corner chipped off was slightly damaged when I received my bookshelf (although great care was taken to remove each piece carefully from the packaging) . Also, as other viewers have noted, the building instructions for this bookcase are the most useless instructions I've seen for any piece of furniture (and my husband and I are Ikea professionals). It took about 40 minutes to assemble this entire device due to the lack of clarity as to which parts needed to be assembled first before attaching to the base of the device. This meant we had to take one part of the bookshelf apart twice just to access the necessary screws to tighten the other parts. Incredibly annoying for such a small piece of furniture. I give the bookshelf three stars because it's cute. Despite the cheap materials and the headache of assembling it, I don't think I would buy it again.
