Review on Samsung DVD R155 Tunerless DVD Recorder by Doug Bunkers

Overall this is a good value recorder. I was absolutely amazed by the device that allows me to rip my favorite shows via cable (via S-Video input) and play them with an HDMI signal on my HDTV. The remote covers everything, EZ menus and settings to understand and adjust. . I strongly recommend users to buy high quality blank media like Verbatim, TDK, Sony and Panasonic discs. The smaller the number (eg: 8X speed), the better for this device and any standalone DVD recorder. Verbatim discs are the best. The big disadvantage is the lack of a built-in fan, it gets very hot and heats up even more when switched on for a long time. Samsung needs to start installing fans on their DVD recorders to extend their lifespan. This is the best model among other Samsungs. Stay away from their duplicate or duplicate devices.
