Emptying the ice trays takes less than a minute.
I ordered them because my fridge freezer was dead and I thought they would be a good replacement until they fix it. I prefer ice cube trays that stack without lids, but they don't stack without them. The advantage of these bowls is that with silicone inserts, ice cubes fall easily from the bowl without stubborn cubes, and with lids, water does not slosh from the sink into the freezer. The bowls are good and the price is right. Now I just have to wait for the stimulus check.
