WARNING! its excellent reflective properties for added safety. Even though we pulled the collar down to the minimum length for our cats' thin necks, it was still too big. However, we left it on because it's better to be a little big than too tight, right? However, we have decided that we will keep a close eye on it. After about 30 minutes the cat managed to half pull the collar off with its bottom teeth and he was there. The cat's jaw was open, pulled in a fixed position across the floor of the mouth by the collar, and it was clearly trying to free itself. We were so lucky that we followed him, caught him in a matter of seconds and filmed him straight away. It wasn't fun and I don't want anyone else to have to go through that. I learned our lesson on sizing but also wanted to share this information on this specific product sizing in case you are reading this and have a lean cat, not to mention the importance of monitoring in the first place. Please please please look for something that fits snugly if your favorite cat is smaller. However, I strongly do not recommend this product for a kitten. Unfortunately it's just too big.
