Review on SILYNX Radio Adapter Connecter Kenwood by Lauren Parker

Revainrating 1 out of 5

It works with a little manual work.

Purchased at the end of September. Unfortunately my headset was ordered and didn't arrive until November so I didn't have time to return it if it didn't work. I'm just lucky that's exactly what happened. I connected the headset to the adapter and to my Baofeng uv5r radio. I could hear speech at a very muffled rate and when I tried the PTT the audio was just static. Since I couldn't get them back, I started playing around with them. I took my soldering iron and swapped the red and yellow wires on the connector. When I was done I tried again and it worked! Speech was no longer muffled and when I used the PTT the receiving radio could hear me. There was no static electricity like before. I ended up giving it one star because I bought two, neither of which were ready to use out of the box. I had to swap wires and solder to make it work and I'm glad I didn't pay more. If you don't have the money to buy more expensive PTTs but have basic soldering skills, I don't think you have anything to lose if this doesn't work. The only feature I liked is that the PTT button is protected by a cloth.
