Review on Sennelier French Artists' Travel Watercolor 🎨 Set, 8 Count - Pack of 1, Multicolor by Kelsey Brown

Great fun to work with

As a long time user of Winsor and Newton watercolors I was curious to try the half panel Sennelier box. The colors are just great in the work, the paint lays down very well. As others have said, there is a lot of pigment in the flowers. I've dry compared them to similar colors from the Winsor and Newton ranges and probably because I'm used to their colors I prefer the old Winsor and Newton colours. But I think I'll use them just as much over time and I find these Sennelier colors to be great for layering glazes. I think any watercolor painter would love this box of 12 half panels from Sennelier. If you don't want to invest that much, see if you can find a small Sennelier Aqua Mini, something like an 8-color test set in a glass the size of an Altoids mint. The Aqua Mini box of 8 does not include plastic color half bottles - the color rectangles simply sit in sockets on a thin sheet of plastic - sorry don't know how to describe it, same theory as eggs. in an egg pack? But you can pour paint into the empty pan halves, and it's a good way to try out a few paints for around $20-$25. (Some of the colors are the same in the Aqua Mini 8 color set and this 12 color set, but I bet you'll love them and wouldn't mind a pair of the same colors). This set of 12 half panels comes in a light but good tin that feels well made and has a ring in the back to hold the box while painting if you wish.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Disappear
