The only reason for 4 stars is the condition of the blade. The fan blades hit the inside of the fan. The electrician bent them to eliminate rattling and noise. Now the fan works very well. It's not very loud at all, in fact I was surprised I didn't hear it at low speed. The contractor used 8 inch insulated vent hose and for us the vent ran horizontally through the ceiling to the outside of the house. I love that this fan is hanging from the ceiling above my new island. I didn't want a ventilation system hanging over my new gas stove that blocks the view of the work area. It was the perfect solution.
