For the size and shape the sound quality is decent. They aren't designed for noise cancellation, which is one of the reasons I buy them. I use them for running and working, so I like to be aware of my surroundings. I bought them specifically for training and wanted to save money I would have spent on the MDR-Q68LW. So here are the pros and cons. Pros: Once you put them on, they stay with you. Observe what surrounds you. Versatile and durable cable. and they're not the most comfortable I've had. The cable that comes with the headphones is short. It comes with an extension that's stupidly long. If you have a shirt pocket or armband that fits your phone, you don't need it. If you wear your pants so low that your pockets pick up things from the sidewalk, then the extender is just the right size. The extension cord is inconvenient to carry around or put away when not in use. If you get a scratch, get the Sony MDR-Q68LW. They are thinner but a little more practical.
