Review on Cocopar Upgraded Portable Monitor FreeSync Kickstand 15.6", 1920X1080P, 60Hz, Anti-Glare Coating, Flicker-Free, Frameless, Y156FH7R, HDMI by David Samuelson

I received my Cocopar monitor and immediately connected it to my iPad Pro to try it out. I made a few changes like Brightness, Color and HDR to Auto and it worked great with the included USB-C cable. The iPad provided the necessary energy to power both the iPad and the monitor. Make sure you use a Magic Keyboard with an extra charging port or a USB-C hub for longer use, as the monitor will drain your iPad pretty quickly. One evening using the Shiftscreen software to use this monitor as an extended monitor for my iPad Pro worked well. Response time was good and the monitor worked fine when displaying Ultra 4k HDR video, but I used an HDMI cable and connected the monitor separately rather than through the iPad. I didn't notice any dropped frames. Connecting to my MacBook Pro worked great, no complaints for a portable second monitor and it easily connected as an extended monitor. Even on my work laptop, which is a Windows machine, it started and ran quickly with a little snap of my fingers here and there in the settings. rubber strip on the monitor to keep it from slipping. Multiple viewing angles are possible and I wasn't afraid of it falling or slipping. It's lightweight and easily slips into a laptop bag to carry around. There's no screen protector, so you'll need to be a bit careful about putting it in the same bag as the laptop, but the box included a padded protective sleeve with a zipped pocket for cables and other accessories. I would use a case although it adds extra portability. Some have mentioned that they can't get HDR (high dynamic range) output, but HDR won't output if HDR content can't be displayed. I know that when viewing e.g. Settings on an iPad Pro, it only shows the SDR output, but changes automatically when viewing HDR content. This is a good portable monitor. Don't expect it to compete with $1500 or $5000 monitors, it doesn't. However, if you need to carry a second screen to be more productive, this is a good buy. It's well built, has a base to support multiple viewing angles and multiple ports.
