Important things: You need the right glue, it depends. They are very difficult to cut without the right equipment. Try to buy them all at once as I've learned that the color can vary slightly from batch to batch (if you don't plan to dye them it doesn't matter). I put up 200 panels, so I learned a lot. Please listen to me and pay extra money and get liquid adhesive for PVC/Vinyl. It's more expensive, but that's the difference. First I bought the wrong type and it was a mess. Plates slipped out of position, glue didn't dry white, it was everywhere, so much work. It took 15 minutes to hang a record because it had to be held and constantly put back in place. Then I went and bought a more expensive PVC specific liquid adhesive known as vinyl and it made it a lot easier. The panels stuck instantly, didn't move or slide, the glue dried white and there was no mess like with other glues. I'll have the panel in a minute. You will need Loctite Power Grab Tub Surround. This glue is everything. And I had to remove a few panels, and the ones that had this glue on them are even easier to remove. Lighter and less harmful to walls. Unless you have the right equipment, and I'm talking about a circular saw (you can't cut them with a jigsaw), they are EXTREMELY difficult to cut. They are difficult to cut and think about it, they are not flat, the surface of all sizes, so it is very difficult to draw a straight line when cutting, and it is very difficult to cut straight. If you have to cut around light switches and outlets, buckle up because it's a lot of work. A few panels, no big deal, just take your time. If you are hanging a lot of panels, be prepared for a lot of work. Also get metal snips for trimming and the coarsest sandpaper to smooth the sharp edges. One more thing, I don't understand why you are told to start in the middle of the wall. I think it depends if there is a pattern or not. The ones I have don't have a defined pattern so I didn't start in the middle and I think they're fine. The plates are really light but strong.
