Review on ๐Ÿš— Enhanced Performance Walker Exhaust Quiet-Flow 21431 Muffler by Bill Dooley

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Thanks to Walker for this

Combined with an exhaust pipe (mandatory), this is the easiest and cheapest way to replace a rotten muffler. It's nice and quiet. Installation Tips: When cutting a factory muffler, cut as close to the muffler body as possible as you need to preserve as much length of the factory front muffler pipes as possible. The factory front muffler pipes are slightly larger than the muffler inlet. Usually the intake pipe is inserted into the muffler inlet, but in my case (2003 6.0L) I used a pipe expander on the factory pipes to feed them through the muffler inlets. I'm not sure I could stretch the muffler inlets far enough for the factory pipes to slide in. I got an extension tool from Advanced Autos, borrowed a tool program. The intake pipes are so close together (preventing the 5 star rating) that there is no room between the pipes for the traditional muffler yoke bolt. Tip: Obtain a lap band or stop sleeve and slide it over the tubes BEFORE assembly. The tubes are too narrow to even be able to sandwich the end of the yoke between them after assembly without hammering or prying open. screw connection. The slip-fit fit has a slight flex. You need to loosen this pipe and twist so the bend brings it closer to the other pipe to match the inlet clearance on the muffler (because they are closer than the OEM).

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Expensive
