These sponges are not as described or pictured in the product description. Firstly they are open at both ends so are not an aquarium pre-filter and do not match the photos in the listing. Secondly, six of these sponges were shipped in a ziplock plastic bag barely big enough for two, they never recover after hours of freedom from such restrictions. When stretched, the inner hole fits snugly to 1/2" PVC (0.84" OD), which is 1/4" smaller than the listed size. I also had trouble finding the correct pre-filter on Amazon .
