When I bought this I thought it would be the suction type but it isn't. It slides over the vent itself and blocks one of the vents, which sucks but I can deal with that if I have to. I simply remove the holder when not in use. The description also says it will fit most phones up to the latest iPhone, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't use a case on your phone when it's in the cradle. I have a One Plus 5T and with the case it barely fits in width and doesn't sit on the bottom stand just resting on top. I think if I took it out of the case it would barely fit, but there's no chance it will fit an iPhone 10 or any of those phones that look like a small tablet. I know a lot of this sounds negative and my original rating was only 2 stars, but their support team was thrilled when they saw that I was dissatisfied with the product. This earned them another star. And when I look at the holder, I notice that it is well made. Metal handles, soft foam lining to avoid scratching your phone, and the clip is strong and holds well. It does not hang on the vent. It also rotates so you can mount your phone horizontally or vertically without removing it from its mount or vent. The build quality also gave it another star rating. I would recommend a deeper cradle design that can accommodate pouches, but overall this is a product that I use regularly and I'm not looking for a replacement any time soon.
