I used these pans for "tall" cheesecake recipes at the holidays. Worked great. Cheesecakes easily removed from the pan, easier to control removal than springform in my opinion. Because they are smaller , a thin flexible spatula slid right between the crust and the bottom of the pan and I was able to lift the whole cheesecake to a platter. I found one recipe made 2 cheesecakes, with a bit of filling leftover. They were easy to fit in a water bath. I washed by hand, as I was unsure if they would discolor in the dishwasher. I recommend these pans, and am confident with proper procedures they will work for regular cakes as well.
