Many have commented that the wire harness polarity is the opposite of what it should be. Technically, due to color-coding rules, this is not the case. If there is a black wire and a white wire, the black wire is live and the white wire is neutral. If there is a red wire and a black wire, red is live and black is neutral. While most audio gear typically uses red and black wires (and probably the color code they should have used in this application), Metra has correctly coded the polarity. Black doesn't ALWAYS go with black. I thought this might be a tip someone can use as a reference in the future when dealing with other electrical situations.
