I used one of those big presses and it annoyed me. My family and I do a lot of manual work and we have an online shop that makes a profit. It's time to get something more professional and user-friendly. While I can't make hats or plates out of it, shirts, pillows, and other small items work great. I like that I have a larger heating surface so larger items now fit better and I don't have to go through this twice to cover and heat everything. Heats up pretty quickly. Everything is metal and heavy, very durable and won't move around the table. I have mine on a wooden board for extra protection from overheating the table. There's a bit of tweaking to the pressure setting, but for the most part it works right out of the box. You can't learn much with that. Set temperature and time, done. The soft grip is also nice. I always use butcher paper under and over all my translations. You don't want to mess up the included pads, as you might leave something on your material from a previous transfer. This is a pretty awesome press and it was a great price compared to the overly expensive Cricut materials.
