Unfortunately my area has pretty hard water so I've had to replace these valves about every 8-15 years or so. But this valve replacement perfectly fixed our stuck bathroom faucet valve. The hardest part is getting the cartridge out of the valve body. My setup is for an "ordinary" faucet with each valve (discontinued Kohler Taboret style) individually countertop mounted. Turning the 5/8" nut on top of the long head just loosens and turns the entire valve body in the countertop. The solution was to completely disconnect the valve body from the water supply, remove it from the countertop and install it in the Largest Vise I Own. With a little effort, the cartridge could be unscrewed. While you're disassembling everything, grab some vinegar and take the time to clean up any nasty limescale build-up.
