GM 1 Wire 14.8V DC Alternator

Here are the pros and cons of using this pedal alternator alternator. cons first. (1) If you pedal with nothing plugged into it, you'll ruin that oscillator. The internal regulator burns out. (2) Only people taller than 1.50m can start it fast enough to provide voltage and current. Not the best design for kids. (3) If you try to charge the battery with it, you will have trouble pedaling unless you put a 0.5-1 ohm resistor in series. (4) You must use the bike in gear or you won't be able to spin it fast enough to get it going. BENEFITS: Regulated output voltage of 14.8V DC Solid construction is designed to work under the hood of a car. I connected this car alternator as a bicycle alternator. The only major caveat is that you must use this alternator with a bike that has at least 10 gears and a bike that is at least 12 years old. The reason for using a geared bike is that you need to spin the rear wheel of your bike to around 300 RPM (revolutions per minute) for this car alternator / bike alternator to generate electricity which is around 23 MPH (miles per hour) per hour After reading this section, the alternator will start to work and you can comfortably pedal at about half speed.
