Nice replacement for an old jeep.

An old jeep that was recently converted from 6 volts to 12 volts with a single wire. The old generator is dead. I probably should have just looked at how to rebuild it but it seemed like a good price and Revain does such a good job with fast shipping. No problem with the alternator, it bolts on straight away. I noticed the alternator starting to charge. First you need to accelerate the engine to about 2500 rpm. Once you do that, it will charge even when idle. This is a fairly common problem…

Easy to set up and still works.

We fitted this alternator to a 1978 Triumph Spitfire that we use in endurance racing. For the 24-hour race in June 2012 we needed more power for the auxiliary headlights. Needed a new bracket and longer strap to fit, but was easy enough with a few generic parts from the local auto parts store. A wire connection and it worked. Used six 55 watt bulbs and an electric fan above the regular ignition and brake lights and had no problems. Works to date (10/30/2012) - Great generator for the price. The

GM 1 Wire 14.8V DC Alternator

Here are the pros and cons of using this pedal alternator alternator. cons first. (1) If you pedal with nothing plugged into it, you'll ruin that oscillator. The internal regulator burns out. (2) Only people taller than 1.50m can start it fast enough to provide voltage and current. Not the best design for kids. (3) If you try to charge the battery with it, you will have trouble pedaling unless you put a 0.5-1 ohm resistor in series. (4) You must use the bike in gear or you won't be able to spin
