Review on Bookshelf speaker system Monitor Audio Bronze 1 black oak by Felicja Kwiatkowska ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Expectations were not met, average quality.

Speakers were bought without prior listening. Interest in these speakers, thanks to rave reviews from quite authoritative people in the field of sound, has existed for a long time! Like "cool speakers, " small and remote "! I myself am a fairly knowledgeable and competent person in the field of sound. The speakers are connected to a Denon 720AE integrated amplifier, a PC and an external Fiio audio converter act as a sound transport. I myself consider such a bundle to be very convenient and flexible Impression-conclusions 1. Powerful despite the size of the speakers 2. Specific barrel-shaped sound 3. Low overall detail 4. Poor elaboration of the entire low-frequency range The very nature of the sound is specific, immediately noted a peculiar shade in the middle and upper low-frequency ranges, and also the transition zone of the midrange to the highs. Low frequencies, despite the size of the speakers, are really powerful, but at the same time, they are deaf and not accurate, they play on one note, they definitely lack the volume of the speaker cabinet! On many compositions and genres, the bass is unpleasantly buzzing! In the middle frequencies in the area transition to HF, a significant "hump", this most important zone of the speaker is strongly distinguished from the rest of the frequencies, which negatively affects the overall tonal balance, sound how to become "plastic"! General conclusion: the authority of the AC data is greatly inflated. I returned the speakers back, and I do not regret it at all.

Pros
  • Quality build, size/power ratio
Cons
  • poor development of the low-frequency range, low sound detail over the entire range, specificity of the sound character (barrel-shaped, dark)
