I crochet a lot and eventually my thumb would start to hurt, so I looked for a more ergonomic alternative. They're a little big and take some getting used to, but now they feel completely natural. I knit a lot for my grandchildren - dresses, hats, scarves, toys. They call it. I liked that it came in a set with all the sizes I use and colors so I don't accidentally pick up the wrong hook - I just have to remember "yellow" or "red". commented that they work best on "knife" hooks. I agree. They seem to have been made especially for her. The shorter shaft helps keep fingers where they need to be to maintain the ergonomics of the movement. This is a well thought out product and I would highly recommend it, especially for marathon crochet lovers!
