Good for Impact good for me

It's lightweight and not bulky. My MacBook (13-inch, 2020, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) fits easily in the pocket and zips closed with no issue. I haven't had issues with it being compressed too tightly which I noticed from other reviews and was concerned about. It's rugged but pliant; I don't think it would withstand a lot of compression force from something super-heavy being placed on top, and I'm not sure how "shock absorbing it is" - I don't really care to test those resilience capabilities but it does what I wanted it to do, protect my laptop while I carry it around in transit in my very thin backpack. My pack has definitely fallen from the seat in my car to the floor board during traffic and it held up fine. I'm not always gentle about tossing my pack around and this seems to do a good job of protecting it for the value -there are other $50-range products similar in design and fashion and they didn't appear any more durable than this one. If you are really concerned about compression from heavy products (30lbs or more) or shock absorbency (constant banging/droping) then I would opt for the expensive tool-box/breif-case style cases that are out there on the market but I found those to be VERY bulky, not practical for carting around -maybe if I had to check it on a plane or something.

Pros
  • Fits snugly around your laptop
Cons
  • May be too thin for users who want more protection
