From the description this pot looks quite small, but for cooking alone (or as a side dish) it is a real bomb among the Dutch ovens. The overall size (including handles) is just over 7.5 inches, the inside diameter of the pot itself is just under 5-3/8 inches. It easily cooks 1/4 cup basmati rice (150 calories), leaving room for chopped veggies or meat. 3 large eggs fit (210 calories). I measured the liquid to the brim and it came out just over 600ml or about 21oz which, when you think about it, is the bulk of a standard (750ml) wine bottle. The lid fits very well and the top handle is cool to the touch when used over the burner. It fits in an 8-inch Dutch oven, which means you can "bake twice" by placing a spacer under the aluminum rack. It can go straight from the stove/oven to the kitchen table on a hot pad, although I recommend using Lexan. Spoon to avoid scratching the aluminum. If enough oil/oil is used it will not stick even if the temperature is kept low. Due to its convenience and functionality, it has become an indispensable helper in my kitchen. Install "Portion Control" for those of us looking to reduce calorie intake.
