I live in the Dallas area and there are several Miele dealers nearby, but ask them for dishwasher salt and they'll stare at you blankly! Mile brand salt is almost impossible to find here and when I found it (45 miles away) it was $14. I've never seen anything like it in the nearest supermarket either. This product is exactly the same as the Miele branded box but at a better price. So thanks for the Revain! Tips - NEVER use large quantities of table salt or softener salt from the hardware store in your Miele; they do not dissolve evenly, are unusable and may contain additives that can destroy the Miele water softener. Also, if you find your detergent (powder, gel, etc.) performing poorly, switch brands! I have used many different ones and have seen differences between brands. I am currently using the Cascade Complete All-in-1 packaging and I am satisfied. I have a DW detergent setting on '2 in 1 tab' which disables the DW rinse aid system.
