I know it doesn't mean it's airtight or anything, but I think sugar should be airtight. There's a lid over the spout, but it's very flimsy. Then it just pops. I was hoping it would be some sort of sliding lid. The sugar becomes lumpy in the air and can no longer be removed from the container. You have to keep tapping the floor to shake off the sugar. It also began to stick together at the edges of the spout, making pouring even more difficult. I also note that it's not very big and I went through it pretty quickly. In the end it didn't matter because I knew by the third bay that it wasn't going to suit me.
