I used this to hang a 1 inch rod in our laundry room. The holes are slightly larger than 1 inch, but not too big to look uncomfortable. The aged/matte bronze color goes well with the other appliances in the room. Assembly was pretty easy, just two screws. I wish the screw holes didn't line up perfectly with the hinges directly below. I don't have a problem with a regular screwdriver, but if you're using a cordless screwdriver with a screwdriver, you'd better use a longer, longer bit because the drill head will push it out at an angle when screwing it in. It's not a deal breaker to me, just a small note on an engineering project. I liked the first set so much that I bought a second pair to install a smaller rod in the closet to hang small items.
