Review on Starrett 234A 1 Measuring Spherical Insulating by Paul Dobson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

the packaging was in perfect condition but there were nicks after unpacking.

Mine arrived damaged, packaging was in perfect condition, but after unpacking there were nicks in the metal that could be felt with a fingernail on the measuring face. I suspect QA At Starrett missed this which is very disappointing given the cost of this product. Also for the sake of publicity, both ends of this standard are rounded, measuring only 1,000 inches down the center of the standard. If the dipstick is not perfectly centered with the micrometer, you will get a reading as low as -0.005. I'm used to seeing standards where both ends are flat. I would not recommend this product.

Pros
  • Standard rods
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
