I am not a professional painter, but I have painted a lot myself and as a former repairman. I've used a variety of extensions, from a simple wooden handle to extensions like this design. This Wooster bar is by far my favorite for a number of reasons. It has a comfortable grip end and the rest of the body is comfortable too. The bar construction is very strong and they don't wobble when locked in any adjustment position. One of my favorite features is how easy it is to adjust the rod to different lengths mid-shot. It's easy because the thumb button is simple and easy to use, the bar slides in and out easily, and locks automatically with each adjustment step.
