Review on Enhanced Performance: RICH SOLAR 20 Amp MPPT ๐ŸŒž Solar Charge Controller with LCD Display for Various Battery Types by Eric Smalley

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The battery is not charging. The temperature sensor connector does not snap into place.

Installed to charge batteries on a sailing boat with a 100W solar panel. There is no connection to the load. When first turned on it showed power going to the 12v battery. When you come back 4 days later, the battery current shows 0 amps and the amp-hours are also zero. 12.0 volt battery. The controller will display the solar panel voltage at 21.5V for about 4 seconds in full sunlight, then drops to 15V for one second, then returns to 21V for 4 seconds and repeats the process. Battery current swings from 4 amps (full sun) to zero amps in 4 seconds. The solar panel itself is 21.0V and the short circuit current is 4.8A, so I believe the panel is working fine. Very disappointing. I will return the device as defective. Second, the remote temperature sensor doesn't snap. It just falls out. The socket is set too deep into the housing.
