I bought this because my boyfriend and I adopted a street hobo. She has actually become part of the family although we had to keep her outside as she has two house cats of her own in the house. Anyway, we built her a house and fed her twice a day. When winter came I wanted her to be very comfortable so I bought her this heating pad. Well, she became very possessive, never wanting to leave, and kicked out other stray cats who were also attracted to the playground. She is so comfortable with this pillow and I know it because we have a tiny camera at home! Now she and her friend have a warm place to live and I couldn't be happier! The heating works perfectly. The outside temperature dropped to about 17 degrees Fahrenheit and she snuggled up to the heating pad with no problem! When I put my hand into her house, her body becomes very warm. I highly recommend this heating pad for stray cats. Not sure about dogs or how they react to this, but definitely about street cats.
