Review on Dorman 931-304 Front Passenger Side Door Lock Actuator Motor - Perfect for Cadillac/Chevrolet/GMC Models by David May

I originally wrote a positive review about this item but have since given up. This door lock perfectly matches the factory original. Unfortunately, after less than 2 weeks it stopped working properly. The cable attached to the inside door handle did not retract after being pulled. The door handle did not open, so the door could not be opened either from the inside or from the outside. The mechanic had to remove the door panel with the door closed, reach for the damn contraption, reset the lever that wouldn't go in, and then the door could be opened from the outside. It still wouldn't open with an internal cable because the cable had to be unplugged for the door lock to work. When the car felt a pull on the interior door handle, it illuminated the passenger door ajar warning light and kept the interior light on with the engine running. During all this time, the passenger door did not open. To make matters worse, I was on day 5 of a 3 week trip when this happened. For 2 weeks and 2 days the right side of my car was inaccessible to me. Thanks Dorman. Oh, and thank you Raven. Revain only allows returns for this item within 30 days. When I got back from the trip it was too late to return this piece of shit. So I lost about $100 not to mention the disappointment mentioned above.
