Review on πŸ”΄ Red Hound Auto Control Knob for Honda Accord 1998-2000 - Temperature Black by Michael Crossman

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Scratched and poorly fitted

I bought these knobs because the connection point inside is stronger than standard Honda knobs. My AC fan pulley is a bit difficult to turn and I've broken two other handles in the past. When I received these pens and took them out of the box, I noticed that one of them had scratches. Like it was used and sent back or something. Both have a metal clip on the inside of the connection point. The scratch-resistant handle had a piece of metal that was horribly warped. I knew it wouldn't fit on the dial. I was right. So I tried another pen with a well formed metal. No luck here either. I compared the size and shape with my old ballpoint pen. Identical. So I used a small piece of metal and managed to get the metal clip off the inside of the unscratched handle. It fits snugly on the dial. I'm not sure if it was a defect in the metal or if it was just poorly constructed. I'm confident these pens will last longer, but I'm not impressed with the scratches on one and the warped, ill-fitting metal on the other good one. At least I have a second handle (which I also have to strip metal off of) if my temperature controller breaks.
