Just bought this for the second time. The first lasted 18 months, was easy to use and had about 10,000 tow miles with no problems. Recently I had to shoot without a key (my glitch, not the product). I've always wondered how safe they really are. I drilled the lock, hit it with a hammer, drove a screwdriver in, and pryed it open with a spatula. He never moved. I took it to my mechanic and they cut it off with a heavy duty hacksaw. Unless the thief is well equipped and doesn't make a lot of noise and show, you're safe.
