I have two of these collars. One is used on my little aussie and the other is used on my mini aussie. First, the band is a pain because it's like silicone and comes off easily. It works great with my poodle mix because the fur on her neck isn't thick so skin contact is easier. This product does not work for my mini Aussie. I pulled him very tight, to the point of choking, and trimmed the hair on the back of his neck to make better contact, but still didn't try to stop his barking. There is an in-app version of the secure pet training collar that goes well with his coat, but for some reason this collar doesn't do anything for him. I love its functionality in my poodle mix and I love that it's rechargeable. There were no problems with skin burns. In short, this works for fine-haired mestizos or poodles, but if you have a thicker-coated dog, it may not work.
