Review on πŸ”¨ PC Products PC-Woody Wood Repair Epoxy Paste: Two-Part 12 oz in Two Cans, Tan - Ultimate Wood Restoration Solution by Brendan Thorpe

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An excellent option for wood repair, suitable for sanding, painting and staining.

I originally bought this wood repair epoxy to repair the stock on an old .22 rifle. Where the stock was attached to the rear of the receiver there was a lot of play and the stock moved from all directions. In order not to make new stock I tried this stuff. I mixed the batch according to the instructions and it falters in the problem areas. I then gave it 24 hours to fully cure before sanding it down for a perfect fit. It started to harden after about an hour or so, but I like to give things enough time to fully harden. The Dremel tool was used with a rotary cutting tip (such as an end mill) for rough casting and hand sanded for a final fit. mounted on a rifle. I set everything the way I wanted and prepared the material for coloring. The epoxy will hold the stain. You may need to apply thinner or thicker coats on it compared to the surrounding wood as it will stain a different darkness. The finished project came out much better than I expected. Another project I used this for was the outside door frame on the back door of my house. My puppies chewed on the bottom corner of the door frame while teething. The bottom 6 inches of the door frame was missing. I did this major repair in two batches to avoid product sagging while attempting to get the job done in one large batch. I gave the first batch 24 hours to cure, roughened the surface. a little with a wire brush and apply a second coat. Another 24 hours of curing and it's time for sanding and painting. The exterior paint was latex and applied easily, as did the rest of the wooden door frame. A second coat in a few hours and that's it. You have to look closely to see that I actually did the repair. I am very happy with the result.
