My son is between 3T and 4T and the very small size fits him very well. He's very skinny so while he needs the length that 4T provides, he doesn't have a buttocks to hold his pants up. At his school, kids need to be able to put their potty pants on and off, so other straps make that almost impossible. He can make this strap light and it basically helps hide the plumber's tear. My only complaint is that he has to snag the first loop of his pants, which 1) requires him to wear pants with loops and 2) makes his belt look a little crooked. That won't be a big problem for us, but it should be said.
