With our new car, you squeeze a little to get out and not bump into the door. My wife hit the hanging ladder on her side. Tried to park on the left but she came out with these big work bags so she decided to try this product because she noticed some small chips on her door. After painting the chips I applied this door edge and it works well even though it hits the door pretty hard. It's a thin strip so you need to be careful when applying it and you can cut it and apply in strips.
