Millivolt induced long wire starts timer

I bought two mounted side by side on a small surface mount panel at a residential pump house. Both use short 12-inch, 18-gauge insulated wires to connect one terminal each to the subpanel's neutral strip. The activation connection of each timer is supplied with 120 VAC by two pushbutton switches. The activating 120VAC input cord is also star connected (3 wires under the nut) to over 200 feet of insulated 14 gauge wires that run to the main building via an underground conduit that also runs 4 gauge wires that supply the pumping station of the sub-plate. The 14 gauge wires are used to turn on small LED signal lights around the house which are panel mounted and indicate when the pump is running. It has no targeted input. I have found that there is an induced voltage to exist for long periods of time appears to be stretching 14 gauge wire. My simple amprobe VOM (electricity meter) shows that this voltage is only about 25 millivolts on the DC scale and 00.0 to 0.1 volts on the AC scale. an age scale measuring from the stripped ends of the wires to the zero or ground bar - it doesn't matter. I tried both same timers and got the same results. Both turn on their sync function at this extremely low voltage, much less than the 5 volts AC/DC stated in the specs. Therefore they are useless to me as they will just run all the time. I'd rather pay more for (1) a meter with a replaceable battery and (2) one that works as advertised. After all, why don't they offer round meters? There are probably tens of thousands of 7/8" to 2" round punches in this country, the most common sizes as they are used all the time by electricians and tradesmen, but how many 37.5cm x 24.5cm rectangular punches do you think? are? Cutting such rectangular holes in a thick sheet is very troublesome. Of course I knew that when I ordered it. just say! I hope this information helps you in your decision.
