I first bought an AquaStick for my 1 gallon ultrasonic mist humidifier. I put 2 in as instructed and it made absolutely no difference - brown/pink goo appeared throughout the day and was absolutely gross and in dire need of cleaning (as usual) during the week. Then I decided to try this one, although it's more expensive and says it doesn't last as long. But this one actually works - I've been wearing it for 2 weeks now and only now am I getting faint traces of brown/pink. The advertised silver content is about 10x that of the AquaStick, so what could be the reason? Anyway, it's really worth it - it makes a HUGE difference in keeping the humidifier clean and I don't have to worry about all that bacterial mucus getting into my lungs.
