I can't speak to long-term reliability or other dock/adapter features beyond what I need, but having had a hard time figuring out what would work for my particular needs based on reviews of these and other options, I can I confirm that Thunderbolt 3 Dock Plus works to extend the desktop to dual monitors from my 2020 13" MacBook Pro via DisplayPorts with a single Thunderbolt cable output while providing 60W of charging power (as well as USB printing and internet connectivity). Now have I have three independent screens that I had on my old MacBook Pro with two Mini DisplayPorts, at first it mirrored the display based on the order I had everything plugged in, but once the monitors were docked and I connected the Thunderbolt cable to mine MacBook unplugged and then plugged back in, they emerged as independent desktops running as usual couldn't be rearranged in the display settings (I only use 2x 1440p). Every time I wake up I have to disconnect and reconnect. m sleep to switch desktops from mirrored to extended, which is a bit annoying if you don't toggle your settings, but no big deal. I'm not sure if it's the computer.
