I bought this relay to mount under the hood of my tractor to charge trailer batteries which power an inverter to run a Samsung household fridge at 110V AC while I'm on the road train. I run the relay from the cigarette lighter circuit to turn on the relay and the main power goes straight from the alternator to one side of the solenoid and the other side connects to the trailer tow circuit via the 200A winch plug. These wires from both the generator and trailer, as well as the corresponding wires in the trailer, are connected to weld wire #4 on both sides, so my batteries are always charged. Trailer batteries (6.6 volt golf cart batteries stay charged while the inverter is running in the trailer) that power a domestic refrigerator en route. So far, so good. I'll update the information after more miles have passed the relay through its paces. I wanted a quality USA made solenoid that would last a long time. My last tow truck Cole Hersee Solenoid lasted 15 years. I hope this relay will work as well as my old one.
