I took my doors off and installed these. I had high hopes but they didn’t live up to the expectation. They are fine quality, but the reality is that any mirror you attach through your door hinge will swivel inwards in any significant wind hits it. For example, I tightened these down to what I thought was appropriate. not to over-tighten, and at 45mph the mirrors started to collapse inward from the wind resistance and made them useless for detecting my surroundings. Sure I was legal to drive in NY since I had mirrors, but they didn’t work. The rubber gaskets it came with were useless because they were chewed up from the tension of tightening them down. I replaced that hardware with new metal washers and high quality rubber gaskets. it I still ran into the issue of the mirrors turning inward while driving.I then decided to over tighten the mirrors, potentially causing damage to my door hinges, and they still turned inward! I assume this was because the rubber gasket slips inside the hinge since the mirrors are not the same diameter as the inside of the door hinge.My solution was to return and avoid any mirror that mounts from a door hinge.I decided to buy the overpriced Carolina Metal Masters Mirrors and ball mount solution, but I am still waiting to test these.Overall disappointed in this product and I could not see how they would work for anyone expecting to drive over 40mph.
