Good product. It works as intended and as stated in the manual when the snake stops or feels like it has hit something. Make sure there is about 5 inches of clearance between the sink drain hole and the snail handle on the spool. Then tighten the clamp and turn the lock. However, if you twist and twist/bend the spool excessively, do not tighten it so much that the spool cannot slide back to its original position. You can hear and feel the end of the snake twisting in the pipe. If not, stop and loosen the clamp. The only downside I found on this product is the handle. it's such a flimsy piece of junk. They had to use threads in the handle like a grinder or a drill. It feels like it's about to burst, and probably soon. But that doesn't bother you, you can hold other parts of the instrument, except for the handle. Also, it's a good product that will clear your drain if what's clogging your drain isn't a stuck object. In this case, call a plumber.
