TAKE OFF BLACK RUBBER CAPS!
Fine stools, good value for the money. However, I was stupid and didn't read instructions. Easy to assemble, BUT: in small print on the instructions, it says to remove the black rubber cap from the rod before assembly. I missed it on the first chair. So, that stool is useless: the rubber cap got immovably lodged in the seat and now the chair does not connect to the base. So, take off the rubber cap!But overall, definitely fine for the money (if you take off the caps.)
