For about $12 I got a rotating metal handle and a thick plastic scoop. No issues with the deformed edge, I got it flush with the floor. Big enough to be easy to manoeuvre, but short enough not to get in the way. The MAIN and most useful feature for me is the ability to fix the angle of the blade - does "rotate" mean in the description? For me, like basketball, that means spinning with a pivot. I had to leave the review to make sure it was what I wanted. Essentially, you can hold the dustpan's opening at a 90-degree angle to the handle (for sweeping and then tossing in the bin), and you can fold the dustpan (for smaller storage). It's very easy to lock - squeeze the handle to make it snap into the shovel, but it's not that easy to unlock because every time it looks like you might break the plastic, squeeze the handle sideways towards the hole with the pan on the ground until it comes up for free. For the price and the fact that the plastic feels thick and not brittle, I can forgive that.
