If you accidentally release a spring uncontrollably.

I had to buy a set of springs/plates. I have never used this style of post (my old ones had permanently installed springs/cymbals). And the first pair I disassembled had parts flying around and I never found them. So that. and later an extra set of springs/cymbals and I never worry about it.
