They are great. They last a lot longer than I thought. If they do not hold you, then most likely it is about installing a lamp. The light fixture needs to have good airflow or it will burn out pretty quickly. With open lights there should be no problems. However, if you have built-in lighting, make sure you aren't blocking the airflow in the attic with insulation or anything like that. I have 27 recessed lights and 5 outdoor lights with these bulbs. For over 2 years, not a single outside air had to be exchanged. I replaced 4 lightbulbs from the built-in lighting. 2 on one device and 2 on the other. The same devices, and they blew from the start. It turned out that the airflow in the attic was blocked. I fixed the issues and no more burnouts. They have temperature protection and will turn themselves off after a while. When they cool down, they turn on again. However, they heat up again and turn off. If you see this happening you need to fix the airflow issue or it will eventually burn out.
