It worked but the gear mechanism was causing too much sideways vibration at the tip of the drill chuck. I needed this to drill holes in a slate shower stall and install glass shelves. I started with a 3/32 pilot hole drill, but the loose gearing caused the drill bit to make a small circle instead of rotating on its axis. This was done after carefully centering the drill and tightening the drill chuck several times. It can be good for drilling 1/2" holes in 2x4s, but it's hard to use when you need precision.
